Bear watching evening or over night in Finnish taiga forest, about half an hour's drive from Ruka or Kuusamo town center. We can guarantee 99 per cent chance to see King of the Forest.

Bear Kuusamo provides bear watching and photographing experiences close to Russian border. In Kuntilampi's 600 hectares protected area you are able to see wild brown bears in their own, natural environment. In addition to bears, white-tailed eagles are regular visitors in Kuntilampi, also ruffs and other waders are often seen especially in the early summer. Our bear watching hides are comfortable log cabins with big windows and openings for camera lenses. If you want to spend the whole, sunlit summer night watching bears, there are bunk beds with sleeping bags in case you need a lie down. Inside the cabin, there's also a gas cooker and a dry toilet. For better sightings, we have some binoculars to borrow.

Bear watching experience starts at 18:00 (6 pm) when you'll meet our guide in a parking area. From the parking area it is only about 200 meters walk to the hide. There's also a possibility to accessible access to the hide. Bear watching evening ends around 22:00 (10 pm) and if you choose to spend the whole night in the finnish wilderness, you are free to leave around 8:00 in the following morning. Please bring your own snacks and something to drink as we don't offer beverages.
